Healing Beyond Borders
In 2013, Dr. Peter Caron moved to Guatemala, where he lived for two years and provided care to over 10,000 patients through the Global Healthworks Foundation. These experiences shaped his commitment to service, compassion, and using acupuncture to make a lasting impact in underserved communities.

Guatemala has always held a special place in Dr. Caron's journey. During his two years there, he worked side by side with local families and communities, often in challenging conditions, bringing relief to those with little or no access to healthcare.

Patients would travel hours to be seen, many suffering from chronic pain or injuries that had gone untreated for years. With limited resources, even a single treatment could restore mobility, ease suffering, and bring hope.

Now, more than a decade later, Dr. Caron is returning to Guatemala—not just to give back again, but to continue a story of healing that began years ago. You can read more about his original work in this Global Healthworks Foundation article.

Mission Highlights
Through Global Healthworks Foundation, this mission seeks to:
- Provide free healthcare to indigenous communities with limited access to medical care
- Support sustainable healthcare programs that continue long after the trip
- Collaborate with local practitioners to expand long-term impact
- Offer compassion, dignity, and human connection alongside treatment

Dr. Caron's work in Guatemala is a reflection of what drives Gotham Acupuncture at its core: care, compassion, and a belief in the healing power of connection. Together, we can extend that healing across borders.
