Is Acupuncture Right for Me?
If you’re not sure if acupuncture is right for you, contact me for an initial consultation. Usually this can be done by phone or email, but in some cases a face-to-face meeting may work best. There is no charge for this service, which should be approximately 15 minutes or less.

What Should I Expect During My First Visit?
Your first acupuncture or Shiatsu visit will be an hour and a half, during which we will review your medical history. Most acupuncture treatments I administer include Tui Na, as well as a period for you to relax after the needles are set. Time permitting, I may also send you home with simple Qi Gong exercises to help rehabilitate your injury or complaint, or a list of easy-to-follow dietary advice.  Subsequent visits are one hour.

What Should I Wear During My Treatment?
For acupuncture, comfortable clothing such as shorts, tank tops, sports bras, etc, are ideal, but not necessary.

For a Shiatsu visit, please wear comfortable, flexible clothing which covers most of your body. For example, sweatpants, tracksuits, and t-shirts are fine; shorts or sports bras are not ideal.

How Often Should I be Treated with Acupuncture?
Of course, this depends on your chief complaint, the progression and history of the condition, and other factors. Many acupuncturists recommend a minimum of ten treatments. I recommend one treatment each week for three weeks, followed by a 3-4 week break to allow your body to integrate the treatments fully. You should return for further treatments based on how you feel.

What are Your Standard Fees?
Acupuncture:
Initial visit $125.00
Follow-up $100.00

TuiNa/Shiatsu:
Initial Visit $140.00
Follow-up $120.00

Fees subject to change without notice.

What are Your Hours of Operation?
Monday 9am - 5pm
Tuesday 11am - 8pm
Wednesday 11am - 8pm
Friday 9am - 5pm

What is Your Cancellation Policy?
A standard 24-hour cancellation policy is in place at Gotham Acupuncture. You will be expected to pay for a visit cancelled without 24 hours notice.

Do You Accept Health Insurance?
Like most acupuncturists, I do not accept insurance. However, I can issue to you an invoice or "superbill" with industry-standardized billing and diagnostic codes which insurance companies recognize. Provided your insurance carrier’s policy permits, they may reimburse you for your treatments.

What Type of Paperwork do I Need to Fill out?

The Confidential Patient Health History form can be printed at your home or office. Filling it out ahead of time is a good option for those who want to save time the day of their first visit. Download the form here.
